Taxes

Recently I've realized that I should probably file my taxes. Financially this year has been an interesting year for me. I did some self-employed work for the first time, and actually began to budget so that I kept track of a lot of my finances.

When I first got here I had no clue what the deal was with filing taxes and everything; I was very confused. I kind of expected the government to just do everything automatically; I mean sheesh, they know all of my information already anyways.

The good thing about this sudden awareness and pursuit of financial knowledge is that I'm learning a lot about tax shelters and options for saving and investing. Unfortunately though I feel like my situation for financial planning is a little more complicated than most because I don't know where in the world I'm going to live and work for most of my life.

Hopefully God will make things like that crystal clear to me as time goes on. It kind of helps to know God's plans for you to be responsible with the investments of your time and money. One of my motto's is to "live in the moment for God.", but that doesn't carry over to every decision making moment in your life.... life is never ever THAT simple =)
