I had this idea I thought I'd just dump on you. If you comment I'll be excited.
University education assumes that theory must be understood before the student is prepared to apply his or her knowledge practically. However, it is better for students to become proficient in their field's practice before they can intelligently discuss the theory, ethics, and other issues of their field. This reverse to the conventional approach will produce better informed and equipped toolsmiths in the marketplaces of this world. Students will actually know what they are talking about and will be able to relate the theoretical concepts they are discussing to the tangible applications and phenomena they have experienced in the fields.
